Who is Imprint?
From Addiction to Redemption, From Bars to Breakthroughs
mc imprint, born Brett Guidry, is a Southern California rapper whose story embodies transformation. Once lost in the grip of addiction and facing years behind bars, Brett found freedom, purpose, and sobriety through faith. Since his sobriety date of March 18, 2008, he has lived by the mantra: “Turn your pain into art.”
Breaking into the scene with his debut album The First Impression in 2011 and winning Power 106’s “Who’s Next” competition in 2012, Imprint opened stages at SXSW for heavyweights like J. Cole and Prodigy. But his greatest breakthrough wasn’t musical—it was spiritual. After years of weaving testimony into his music, he has now fully embraced his calling: exclusively creating Christ-centered hip hop.
With tracks like MAKE ME NEW and BEEN TOO GOOD (ft. Futuristic), mc imprint blends raw storytelling, West Coast swagger, and scripture-rooted hope. His music speaks to the addict searching for light, the skeptic seeking truth, and the believer craving authentic worship in hip hop form. Every bar carries both lyrical craftsmanship and eternal weight.
Today, mc imprint is more than an artist—he’s a witness. His catalog has grown into a testimony of God’s grace, reaching thousands of listeners across Spotify, TikTok, YouTube, and beyond. As he puts it:
“I’ve never been scared to rep Jesus, but now I get to fully glorify Him with every song.”
From heroin addict to Heaven advocate, mc imprint stands as proof that no story is too broken for redemption, and no beat too hard for the Gospel.
